A practical planning tool

What will ownership cost?

Put the device price beside its setup, subscription and consumable costs. Use your own quotes; these example values are not a product offer.

How it is calculated

Device + one-off setup + years × (12 × monthly subscription + annual consumables).

The example is £200 + £30 + 3 × (£60 + £40) = £530 over three years. Use costs in one currency on a consistent tax basis. Changing the currency label does not convert values.

Fixed example: what £5 a month adds

This chart does not change when you edit the calculator.

Illustrative costs with a £5 monthly subscription: £330, £530 and £730 after 1, 3 and 5 years; without: £270, £350 and £430.
Fixed illustration, separate from the interactive calculator. £200 device + £30 setup + £40 annual costs; the subscription series adds £5/month. Constant prices, no inflation. Download branded graphic

What this leaves out

Financing, inflation, unexpected repairs, resale value and energy costs unless you add them to annual costs. Enter only incremental consumables if your existing routine already incurs some of them. Do not count the same cost twice.

A monthly equivalent is not a payment schedule: a multi-year service may be billed upfront. This tool assumes service for the selected period and does not estimate unused prepaid time or cancellation refunds.

Lower cost is not a verdict on suitability, quality or safety.
